I know I’m a bit late, but oh well I actually had plans come up out of nowhere, but anyway here I am!

It wouldn’t be Christmas with a National Lampoons Movie, I know I’m going to leave out a lot in this review because of all the goodness throughout this movie. Thats just tough crap, thats why we have comments :) So with no further adui all I have to say is SQUIRREL!

GEV Logo I’m sure everyone has noticed that there hasn’t been a new show for a little bit. Of course the holidays are always a busy time for everyone. It’s hard to be able to coordinate everyone’s schedule with family and friends to be able to get a show done with the holidays around.

As soon as the holidays are over we will be back and rocking out again. So, from Geeks Eye View have a happy holiday, and a happy New Year.

The A-Team
I have heard for probably over 10 years that an A-Team movie was in the works. So news about it being in production are normally taken with a grain of salt. However, I have read an increasing number of articles that it may be getting closer and closer to reality. The new version would update it and have the A-Team be Gulf War veterans instead of Vietnam, which makes some sense. I am of the opinion that if they could take Battlestar Galactica and turn it into a well written TV show, it is not out of the realm of reality that the same could be done for the A-Team as well. But, odds are that they will not be able to do it and you will be looking at something on par with the updated version of “Starsky and Hutch”. Let’s hope not. Of course, the most important part of creating a film version of “The A-TEAM” would be the all important casting of the team members themselves. I have seen many threads arguing the optimal lineup over the years, so I thought I would chip in with my idea of the perfect lineup. Please feel free to comment in with your idea of the best possible lineup. So here goes:

Hannibal: I have heard a lot of people throw George Clooney around on this one but I think he has a couple things that will knock him out of contention on this one. He has already done a movie where he was in Iraq (3 Kings), and he has already done 3 movies as the leader of a criminal team (Oceans 11), so I think that you would fall into the area of this role seeming a little too familiar to his previous roles. I also think that he may be too suave and debonair for Hannibal…..I think Hannibal needs some more rough edges. My personal pick would be Robert Deniro.

Face: You could go a lot of different directions here but if you don’t want to be pigeonholed by race….I think Will Smith would be perfect.

Murdoch: Jim Carrey would be an obvious choice, but shifting the character slightly and I think Jack Black would be great as Murdoch.

BA Baracas: Um, is there anybody who can take the spot of Mr T? Seriously? Well, the real Mr T is showing his age just a bit, so I think you have to replace him. But with who? This casting decision is probably the lynch pin in this movie. If you don’t get this one right, it just won’t fly. If you do recast it, are you dressing him up with the gold chains like Mr T? With a mohawk? I just can’t see it……I am going back on what I said earlier and must say that they have to cast the one and only Mr T as BA Baracas. There is no substitue.

What do you guys think?

One of the best lines in the movie Scrooged, starring Bill Murray, which is going to be my Christmas movie review this week. (It is also one of my holiday movie traditions.)

Now unlike my Star Wars Holiday Special I won’t be nitpicking this film to shreds because this film is actually a very well thought out and updated version (almost) of A Christmas Carol originally written by Charles Dickens.

Three out of four geeks agree, a Jonathan Coulton concert is a fun place to be. (more…)

Unless one of the other 3 object, I’ll be reviewing one Christmas Movie a week, until Christmas, so for those of you that can’t count thats 4.

Every year there are a select few Christmas movies I need to watch, The Star Wars Holiday Special unfortunately I could have done without. I remember watching this in the early 80’s with my father off of a VHS copy, since Lucas never wanted it to air again, and I’ll tell you why…

I caught this on cable last night even though I already had seen it years ago. It was one of those movies trying to capitalize on the popularity of Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction. It is a cheesy movie where everyone has a nickname and every uses the catch phrase “Give it a name”. It had a ton of people in it though, Andy Garcia, Christopher Walken, Treat Williams, Christopher Lloyd, Faruza Balk (whatever happened to her?), Steve Buscemi, and the girl that Al Pacino danced with in Scent of a Woman (hoo ahhh!). Despite it’s cheesiness it is hard not to like this movie. It makes me want to be a part of a rag tag crew of people with colorful nicknames. Anyone else remember this flick?
